Folklórico Makeup Tutorial | pink & purple

Hey everyone! Yvette here with another folklórico makeup tutorial. This look was requested by Gabby Gutierrez I hope you like it. I've created two folklórico makeup looks before one using blue eyeshadow seen here and another using green and gold eyeshadow seen here. Many of us who dance folklórico know the amount of makeup that goes on our face is extreme but beautiful! Stage makeup usually has tons of glitter, heavy contour and tons of color.

If you decide to re-create this look remember practice makes perfect! Also, any of these department store products can be substituted for drug store brands. Hope you all like this look, enjoy!

Dose of Colors Lipstick & Lipgloss Swatches

Hey everyone Ruby here with a blogpost on some Dose of Colors lippies! As soon as we get more we'll add more to this post but for now we only have four. For this post we have Poise and Love Potion lipstick. Purple Fusion and Wild Child lipgloss. I want to point out that I made the mistake of swatching first and then taking pictures of the products, so I'm sorry the lipsticks are shaped weird.

Dose of Colors is a cruelty free and vegan brand. Each lipgloss is $15 and each lipstick is $16.  I absolutely love the pigmentation of their products and I can't wait to try out more colors! They weren't drying or sticky and they all stayed on nicely by themselves. Thank you for stopping by and if you have any questions feel free to comment! <3

If you're looking for any FAQ for Dose of Colors I will link it here.

*Not sure why some of them came out with a funky yellowish color and a little pixely but I'll try and fix it* :)

L.A. Girl Glazed Lip Paints Review & Swatches

Hi everyone! As you can tell by the title this is going to be a review and swatch post on the L.A. Girl Glazed Lip Paints! We picked these baby's up at PHAMExpo last month at the Lady Moss booth. We were so excited to hear that L.A. Girl was there we've been dying to try more products from them! At the show it was all 6 for $18, online it would come out to $24. Onto the goodies! Below are the pictures of all 6 lip paints and if you want a quick pro and con list it will be at the very bottom. :)

I was very impressed with all the lip paints. They are very pigmented but can also be sheered out. I applied the lip paints with a lip brush and they went on effortlessly. I haven't tried applying it straight from the tube but I think a lip brush would work best. While I had them on I noticed that they all tingled. I took a look at the ingredients and it does say it contains peppermint. It wasn't a burning or unpleasant feeling I just thought I would give you a heads up in case you're not a fan of the tingle. Babydoll and Pin-up were the only ones that gave me some trouble. Babydoll went on sort of patchy so it took a few passes to get it just right. Pin-up bled a little into some lines around my mouth. But I feel like those can be prevented by using a lip pencil underneath. Overall I highly recommend these lip colors! They are a great find for only $4 each. I absolutely love them and if they came out with more colors I would buy them in a heartbeat!

Left to Right: Blushing, Babydoll, Bombshell, Hot Mess, Coy, Pin-Up

 Pros
 Pigmented
Can be sheered out
Glides on the lips
Affordable
Not sticky

Cons
Babydoll was the only one that came out kind of patchy
Pin-Up bled into some lines around my lip

 In Between Pro & Con
All tingled on my lips due to the peppermint ingredient but it didn't bother me

Hope you enjoyed! Thanks for stopping by!

PHAMExpo Experience + Haul 2014

Hey everyone! Yvette here with my PHAMExpo haul and review. For those of you who are makeup, nails and hair enthusiast I definitely recommend attending PHAME during the summer!

For those of you who don't know what PHAMExpo is its the Professional Hair and Makeup Exposition at the Pasadena Convention Center. This is PHAME's second year and they seriously stepped up their game. Even though this weekend was IMATS London, PRIDE, VidCon, FIFA and I'm sure so much more, PHAME had a great turn out.

Sam and Nic from Pixiwoo attended and they were the highlight of my trip. There were many Instagram faves like @lipsticknik_ and professional makeup artists like @ScottBarnes. The lines were seriously short and fast. The longest lines were definetly Lime Crime and Anastasia, those took maybe 30m to an hour to get through but besides that everything else was a breeze.

Although MAC, NYX, LIT, and other fan faves were not in attendance the professional mua favorites were there. Seeing brands like CAO and which professionals in the business know about but the general public does not was a real treat. There were a lot more vendors than last year and I know PHAME will just keep growing from here.

I just want to thank all of our subscribers and followers for supporting Ruby and I. Thanks to you Ruby and I were able to get media passes which allowed us to get early access. I was able to pick up everything on my shopping list within the first hour. If we don't say it enough THANK YOU A MILLION!

Getting my shopping out of the way allowed me to sit in most of the classes. Last year PHAME didn't have any classes so it was a real treat to see some this year. None of the classes filled up which was bittersweet. I was excited to get front row to the lash demo, contour class, CAO presentation and many more. However, I felt like the presenters wanted to see the classrooms full instead of 10 attendees. I preferred the intimate setting, we could ask questions comfortably and all of us got free goodies in the end.

I really don't have a negative review for PHAME I think for being their second year everything was awesome! The lines were short, the deals were great, the classes were educational, the vendors were all extremely nice, and the PHAME professionals were just superb! I'm excited for next year, okay enough blabber here a list and pic of my haul. Enjoy!\

Pinkstylist Creature Double Feature Contest - Star Wars/The Exorcist

Hey everyone! Today's video is a character I created for Pinkstylist's Creature Double Feature contest! The idea behind this contest is to take two characters from any sci-fi or horror movie before 1980 and create your own character taking inspiration from both looks. I decided to enter this contest on a whim and it's almost the deadline so hopefully I still get this in on time! Anyways the character I created was inspired by an alien I saw in the Cantina scene in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope 1977 (picture below) and I was also inspired by Regan from The Exorcist 1973. I took a little inspiration from both characters and came up with this devil/demon character. I added the Jedi robe for fun haha. The cuts I created were definitely inspired by Regan and also the cracking of the lips. The rest was really based off the Star Wars character. His skin was completely red and had furrowed brows along with some contouring. I realize that my brows could've been covered better but I was messing with them so much that I ended up smudging the crap out of them :( I edited them in the pictures so that it wouldn't be so distracting haha. But anyways I had a lot of fun creating this character and I hope you enjoyed! If you haven't checked out Pinkstylist yet you are missing out on a lot of fun videos! Thank you for watching and I will see you in the next one!
