Medusa Halloween Makeup

Seeing so many beautiful Medusa costumes for Halloween I thought how fun would it be to create a Medusa makeup tutorial! This makeup look is totally outside my comfort zone. I've never done anything like this and for being my first time I have to say it wasn't so scary, I just let my imagination run wild. I Googled Medusa and instantly got inspired to create something evil and wicked.

The story of Medusa really intrigued me as well. There are many versions of the Greek myth, but the consensus seems to be that Athena had some sort of smackdown with Medusa which resulted in Athena cursing the beautiful Medusa. Medusa was once beautiful and Athena turned her into an ugly being that can turn anyone into stone if they gazed into her eyes.

Knowing that Medusa was once beautiful makes me want to create a beautiful Medusa look as well. So stayed tuned for that! For now I hope you enjoy this evil Medusa makeup.

Dose of Colors Liquid Lipsticks | Swatches & Review

Hey everyone! Ruby here with swatches and a review on the new liquid lipsticks from Dose of Colors. There are 4 shades to choose from Purple Rain, Berry Me, Kiss of Fire, and Merlot. There is a new shade that hasn't came out yet that is very hot pink named Pinky Promise. On their website each lipstick costs $18.00 but we bought ours at Naimie's for the same price. I love the packaging on these! The applicator top looks like the glosses but the bottom is a somewhat frosted container. The application of the product went on like a wet gloss then began drying. I expected my lips to get tight once it dried but it was like a satin feeling, so I was pleasantly surprised! Onto the swatches.. Remember I have the Pro and Con list at the very end!

Left to right: Purple Rain, Berry Me, Kiss of Fire & Merlot

Purple Rain: Blue based mid-tone purple

Berry Me: Mid-tone raspberry pink
Kiss of Fire: Orange based red

Merlot: Blue based red

Pros
- All felt amazing on the lips
- Easy to remove with a makeup wipe
- Great color payoff
- Cruelty, paraben and gluten free
- Easy to apply
- Good size for the price
- Wand is flexible
- You can play up the color with different colored lip liners
- Somewhat kiss proof (if you get your lips wet it comes off a tiny bit)

Cons
- Merlot and Kiss of Fire took a few swipes to get opaque
- Keep in mind the more you apply the thicker it feels and the lip color starts to flake off
- Not super long lasting but pair it with a lip liner and it will stay on a little longer
- Merlot and Kiss of Fire are a little too alike
- Kiss of Fire I believe is supposed to be more pinky but it comes off more red on my lips
- Can go on patchy especially with dry lips. I'm thinking that you need to mix it a little in the tube before applying.
- Can accentuate lines on the lips

Overall Opinion 8/10:

All the lipsticks are great colors and they feel amazing! They go on effortlessly and dry to a satin finish. I would definitely exfoliate before using these, that goes for any matte and long lasting lip product. I know that on the website they look more intense but you can definitely achieve that with a lip liner underneath. I recommend all of these lippies but definitely choose between Kiss of Fire and Merlot since they're both so alike it doesn't make sense to get both (unless your lipstick hoarder like myself go for it lol) I do believe that there's room for improvement but I feel like there are many things that you can do to improve the wear on these. Exfoliating, lip liners and applying a little at a time before drying can make these a sure-fire 10!

Thank you so much for stopping by if you have any questions feel free to comment away!

Cinderella Wicked Stepmother | Halloween Makeup

Hey everyone! Today's video is another Halloween tutorial. This is Lady Tremaine aka the wicked stepmother from Cinderella. Cinderella is my favorite Disney princess movie so I really want to create a couple characters from it. Lady Tremaine has striking green eyes and sort of an ombre lip going on so I decided to bring some of her features into a real life makeup. I decided to do two versions of the stepmother a pretty version and then a wrinkled version. I hope you all enjoyed this video and I will see you in the next one!

Grim Reaper | Halloween Makeup

Hi everyone! That time of year is here...Halloweeeen! For the first of our Halloween videos I wanted to do something a little creepy. This is my version of the Grim Reaper. I created an exaggerated eye shadow that went all the way up to my hair line. I also went for hollow cheeks to look a little more skeletal. I wanted to draw on teeth but I didn't like how it came out so I went to my old faithful trick of making chapped lips. If you do decide to do teeth I would highly recommend it to pull the look together even more. Oh and also you can carry around a scythe to really freak people out! I hope you all enjoyed the video and thank you for watching!

Disclaimer: I do not recommend putting on contacts after you apply makeup. I only do this because my eyes cannot take contacts for a long period of time. My eyes start watering like crazy and then I can't see what I'm doing. Just quickly wanted to mention that for you all. :)
