Life with Red Hair ♡ Do's & Dont's + Must Have Products

Hey everyone! Yvette here with a video all about red hair. From dye, to bleach to my must have products. I kind of wanted to make this video like a "what people don't tell you about red hair" talk thru. I go in depth about things to do and ingredients plus activities to stay away from. I ramble A LOT so everything mentioned will be linked on our blog. I hope you all like it. Enjoy!

FAQ:

What dye do you use?
  • When I first dyed my hair I used Pravana Vivids Red dye. I stopped using it because it would fade quickly and fade dull
  • Then I switched to Special Effects Dye to Nuclear Red. I like this dye because the color lasts but this color specifically was too orange for my complexion.
  • Now I used Devilish with a little bit of Blood Red

Did you have to bleach your hair?
  • Yes! I use
Can you go to waterparks?
  • Yes but you have to wear a shower cap or swimmers cap because as soon as your hair touches the water all the dye will run
  • The chlorine strips your hair color

How do you keep your hair healthy?
  • Aragan oil & treatments
  • Hair Masks
  • Never use heat (blow dryer, curling wand, etc)
  • Dont use anything that says volumizing (theres a chemical in there that strips your color)
  • Use anything that has protein fillers in it
  • Stay away from SULFATE (like Head and Shoulders it will strip your color)

How do you keep your color so vibrant?
  • I never wash my hair maybe every 3-6 days I'll wash it
  • I use products for color treated hair
  • I add a bit of dye in my conditioner (every 3-4 week)
  • I only wash my hair in FREEZING COLD water

What are your favorite products?

  • Bleach: Paul Mitchell Synchro Lift here
  • Developer: Paul Mitchell Cream Developer 20 here
  • Shampoo & Conditioner: Matrix Total Results Color Care here

Does your hair stain?
  • Yes! My hair stains EVERYTHING PINK!
  • The tub
  • Pillows
  • Hand
  • Clothes
  • Everything gets stained so invest in red things and CLOROX

Black Sea Mermaid makeup tutorial

Hey everyone! Yvette here with a dark vampy Gothic mermaid makeup look. This mermaid was inspired by tales of the Black Sea. Since my last mermaid was so white I wanted to make this one just as beautiful but black. Black is one of my favorite colors so doing a black mermaid was just super fun to do. It was really challenging because I kept wanting to throw color in there! Since I resisted so much my next mermaid will definitely be full of COLOR! I hope you all like it. Enjoy!

Deep Sea Mermaid Makeup

Hey everyone! Ruby here with another addition to our Mermaids Around the World makeup series! This one is for the mermaid that lives down in the deepest of seas. I was inspired by the sea life that inhabits the deep sea. Most of them are very translucent and have light colors. I have some of those fish pictures down below. Most of the fishes have hazy eyes so I did want to pair this look with mesh contacts. I hope you all enjoyed and please stay tuned for the last mermaid I create and for Yvette's two other mermaids!

Back to Basics ♡ Contour & Highlight for All Face Shapes + DEMO

Hey everyone! Yvette here with another back to basics video. This one is all about contouring and highlighting for all face shapes. I show you the five most common face shapes and explain where to contour and highlight. Now in the video I don't go into too much detail about the why but below I explain it more.  Now don't take this video as a way to change your entire face because you don't like your feature. NOT AT ALL, the point of this video is how to enhance your natural beauty and define your features. Hope you all like it, how to do winged liner will be coming up soon.

Oval Shaped Face
This face shape is the most common and almost everyone contours and highlights based on this face shape. To enhance to bone structure contour along the temples, hair line, hollows of your cheeks at an angle & jaw line. Highlight in the center of the face to pull those features forward.

Round Shaped Face
This face shape likes to look a little bit more lean and follows the same rules as an oval face. To slim the face contour the temples, hair line, hollows of you cheeks and jaw line. The only variation is the contour on the outsides can be thicker strokes than an oval face. This gives a lot of shadow and gives the illusion of a slimmer appearance. Highlight in the center of the face to pull those features forward hence adding dimension.

Square Shaped Face
This face shape wants to look elongated so their contour is going to be on the outsides of the face. The contour can go all along the hair line temples down the face by the ears and outsides of the jaw. The cheek contour is going to be curved up to pull the cheeks upward. Highlight in the center of the face to add light.

Heart Shaped Face
This face shape likes to diminish the appearance of their forehead and angular jaw and chin. Typically you want to contour your temples and jaw line by your ears. Highlight the center of the face to add dimension to the center.

Oblong Shaped Face
This contour is probably the most non-traditional. To shorten the face this shape usually contours at the top and bottom of the face. Contour your cheeks like a curve to pull the face inwards. Highlight in the traditional places except the chin. Instead of highlighting the chin you want to highlight underneath your lip.
